Mr. Willie Floyd McMinn Sr., 89, was called into the presence of the Lord on November 4, 2016 at Meadville Nursing Home in Meadville, MS. Mr. McMinn was born November 6, 1926 in Choctaw County, MS to Mr. Jim Thomas McMinn and Mrs. Ellen Taylor McMinn.
Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS on Monday November 7, 2016 from 12:30 PM till time of service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The graveside service will follow in the Midway Cemetery in Meadville. Rev. Matt Alexander will be officiating the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. McMinn was an Army veteran, having served our country during World War II. He also served the children of Mississippi by serving 38 years as a public school teacher and coach. He served as deacon at his church in Itta Bena, MS prior to moving to Meadville, MS. He was a member of Meadville Baptist Church where he faithfully sang in the choir. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Mr. McMinn is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margie Lee McMinn, Etoyle McMinn and Mabel Coggins; brother, Harold McMinn and, son Ronald Stevenson.
Survivors are his wife, Ann McMinn of 57 years; daughter, Brenda Patterson (Bernie), Carla Campbell (Rick); son, Bill McMinn (Lisa), Chuck McMinn; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren along with a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Taylor McMinn, Chanse McMinn, Cable McMinn, Will McMinn, Clark Campbell, and Neil Woodall.
