Obituary

Funeral services for Willie O. Havard and Mary Betty Jo Havard will be on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Springhill Baptist Church in Knoxville, MS at 12:00 PM with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Springhill Baptist Church in Knoxville, MS from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM. Rev. Mike Carraway will be officiating the services with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Willie O. Havard, 84, and Mary Betty Jo Havard, 79, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Willie, born on February 11, 1940, and Betty Jo, born on March 23, 1945, were both born in Franklin County, MS.

They enjoyed gardening and working on their flower beds.  They enjoyed sitting on the porch watching cars drive by.

Preceding Willie in death were his wife, Mary Betty Jo Havard; parents, William Wallace Havard, Eva Mae Graves Havard; brothers, Wayne Havard, Jimmy Havard; sisters, Ruthie Mae Shiers, Betty Smith, Hershel Humes, Dolly Humes.

Betty Jo's husband, Mr. Willie Havard passed later on the same day. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Henry Cater, Nettie Jane Terrell Cater; brothers Ed Cater, Bill Cater, Pedro Cater; and sisters, Evelyn Hammack, Lucille Littleton, and Ann Willard.

Survivors are their sons, Maxie Havard, Donald Lee Havard, Jeffrey Spring (Courtney); daughters, Rhonda Bonds (Wendall), Eva Aldridge (Windy), Annette Cobb (Bruce); brothers, Hilton Havard (Dee), James Cater, Elmer Cater, Howard Cater (Pat); sister, Barbara Corken; grandchildren, Lane Edwards (Brittany), Nikki Belote (Rob), Heather Havard (Jessica), Kalin Everton (Blaine), Cade Havard (Erica), Jessica Cobb, Jacob Cobb; great-grandchildren, Avery, Ashlyn, and Beckett Belote, Preston Edwards, Dax and Rylee Havard, Scarlett Everton, Conner Bonds; and a host nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers are Lane Edwards, Cade Havard, Jake Cobb, Blaine Everton, Chuck Parker, and Wayne Havard.

Honorary pallbearers are Elmer Cater, Dewayne Havard, and Marty Jackson.

Donations can be made in memory of Mr. & Mrs. Havard to the Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
