Funeral services for Mr. William Gordon "Gordy" Murray will be on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS at 2:00 PM, with burial to follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in McCall Creek, MS. Rev. Tony Mullins will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.

Mr. William Gordon "Gordy" Murray, 90, of McCall Creek, passed from this life on Friday, October 4, 2024, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on May 6, 1934 in McCall Creek, MS, to Mr. Ike Murray and Mrs. Laura Maude Murray.

Gordy retired from Franklin Telephone Company after working for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending time watching his grandchildren play baseball. He loved to hunt, working on his property with his heavy equipment, and rocking on the porch with Bella.   He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Charlotte Walker; and brother, Morell Murray.

Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Betty Murray; sons, Ken Murray (Michele), Shorty Simmons (Sherry); daughter, Alisha Phillips (Jeff); grandchildren, Matthew Murray, Amanda Crosby, Austin Burris (Sophie), Gavin Burris, Chase Simmons, Kade Simmons; great-grandchildren, Patience Murray, Kacen Crosby, Brycen Crosby; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Austin Burris, Gavin Burris, Lucas Burris, Kevin Longmire, Glen Richardson, and Denver Goodson.

Honorary pallbearers are Wesley Ratcliff, Harold Dillon, Phillip Goodson, Seth Bivens, Daniel Spears, Nathanael Addison, and Kenneth Felter.
