Funeral services for Wilda McGehee Temple will be on Friday, June 7, 2019, at Franklin Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with graveside to follow at Midway Cemetery in Meadville, MS. Bro. David Perry will be officiating with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home on Friday, June 7, 2019, from 12:00 PM until the time of services at 2:00 PM.
Mrs. Temple, formerly of Natchez, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, in Brandon, MS. She was born August 30, 1944, to Alvie Elmo and Lourine Cowart McGehee. She graduated from Meadville High School in 1962 and St. Dominic's School of Nursing in Jackson in 1965. Her nursing career spanned nearly 34 years at Merit Health-Natchez, serving as Supervisor of Surgery, PACU and Endoscopy. She retired in 1998 to become a full-time grandmother and caregiver to family and friends in need. She was always available for advice, transportation to doctor visits, to cook a meal or just to be a caring listener over the phone. She remained active in her Sunday School class at First Baptist Church-Natchez, the annual Meadville School reunion, her local retired nurses' group and with her nursing school classmates, all whom she considered among her closest friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Albert Riley Temple of Brandon, MS; one daughter, Renee Temple Rollins and husband, Kip, of Brandon, MS; and the true blessings of her life, granddaughters, Allyn Elizabeth and Sarah Carson Rollins. She is also survived by two sisters, Joyce Williams and husband Ron of Atlanta, GA, and Margy Rushing of Meadville, MS; a brother Ward McGehee and wife Jean of Meadville, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers are Mitch Rushing, Mike Childs, Keith McGehee, Darby Chiasson, Chris Suire and Pollard Cowart
