Obituary

Services for Virginia Ward, 87, will be held at 11:00 A M Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Bassfield, MS with Father Peter Varghese officiating. Interment will follow in the St. James Cemetery in Bassfield, MS.

Visitation will be held at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 5:00 P M until 8:00 P M with a Rosary at 6:00 P M. There will be visitation also on Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church from 10:00 A M until time of service.

Mrs. Ward died December 21 at the Meadville Convalescent Home.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Claude and Pauline Terrell Boleware, one brother Sam Boleware, one sister Elizabeth Campbell and one daughter Claudia King Emfinger.

Virginia was born November 28, 1926 in Jefferson Davis County, MS. She graduated from Carson High School and lived there until she married Marvin King and moved to Meadville. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Meadville. She was a homemaker and loved sewing for friends and neighbors, she worked as a waitress and bookkeeper. She was active with the Home Demonstration Club in Meadville for many years and enjoyed needlework and quilting.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Barbara Kathryn LaBauve (Kerry) and Mary Joyce McGhee (Mickey), eight grandchildren: Kevin LaBauve (Mindy), Douglas McGhee, Vance McGhee (Sheri), Steven McGhee (Angie), Micki Sue McGhee, Timothy McGhee, Mandy Welch (Hilton), and Rhonda Kammerdeiner (Kevin), fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren along with her stepchildren: Gene (Mary) Ward of Meadville and Ida (Richard) Price of Brookhaven, MS.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Meadville Convalescent home for the care they provided to Virginia in her final years and Southern Care Hospice for additional care in her final weeks.
