Obituary

Tommie J. Griffin, 67, was called home from this life on Friday, September 11, 2015, at her home in Franklin County, MS. Mrs. Griffin was born March 29, 1948, in Wheeling, WV, to Thomas and Mary Shomo Richard.

Visitation will be at Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Meadville, MS, on Sunday, September 13, 2015, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Monday, September 14, 2015, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Roxie, MS. Bro. Tom Griffin and Bro. P. J. Walters will officiate the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She was a retired dietary manager and a homemaker. She was a member of Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved to sew and to cook for her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Shomo Richard; husband, Charles M. "Chuck" Griffin, Jr.; and sister, Artie Alice Pack.

Survivors are sons, Dale Griffin and wife Melorie of San Antonio, TX, Tom Griffin and wife Tammy of Meadville, MS, David Griffin and wife Denise of McCall Creek, MS, Aric Griffin of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Anthony Griffin of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; daughters, Belinda Griffin Stacks of Texas, Betty Griffin Wolfe of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Marjie Griffin De La Garza and husband Art of Smithdale, MS, and Alisha Griffin of Bude, MS; brother, Ellis Richard of Mansfield, OH; 23 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Dylan Griffin, Joshua Griffin, Nathan Griffin, Shane Arnold, Dale Dier and Mac Cothren.

Honorary Pallbearers are Bowden Kent, Ray Beard and Ellis Richard.

The family wishes to extend a very special "Thank You" to the staff of St. Luke Home Health and Hospice with a special thanks to Leanna Barfoot, the staff of McComb Cancer Institute with special thanks to Dr. Burnett Hanson, and to her church family.
