Mr. Hill, 89, of Bude, MS was called home to his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was born on September 1, 1931 as the oldest son of the late Tim M. Hill and Eloyce Corban Hill Temple. Born in Brookhaven, MS, Tim attended Meadville High School and graduated from Chamberlain Hunt Academy in Port Gibson. After graduating, Tim enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Kearsarge and the USS Boxer. After completing his tours of duty, Tim returned to Mississippi, enrolling in Mississippi State University.
It was during his early twenties that Tim lost his left arm in an accident in the oilfield. In 1962, he married his beloved wife, Beverly King and proceeded to make his home in Franklin County. Tim was an agent and Agency Manager with the Southern Farm Bureau Companies for 44 years. He was a breeder of American Red Brahman cattle. Along with his stepfather, Walter N. Temple, Tim established Temple Hill Farm. Tim and his son proceeded to show and export Brahman cattle across the United States and around the world. Tim served in numerous roles in the county including the Dixie Youth baseball program as scorekeeper and treasurer as well as the Franklin County Fair Association as President for numerous years. A lifelong member of Meadville Baptist Church, Tim served on numerous committees and as a deacon. He loved young people. Not only his children and grandchildren but all the children of Franklin County. He could be found at almost every Franklin County football and baseball game cheering on his beloved Bulldogs.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his stepfather, Walter N. Temple (Doc), and his brother, Tommy Hill.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverly King Hill; son, Trey Hill (Susan) of Bude, MS; daughter, Corban Hill Crain (Andrew) of Kennesaw, GA; sister, Gail Temple Bowen (Bev) of Plano, TX; brother, Dr. Van Temple of Jackson, MS; five grandchildren: Amanda Hill, Andy Crain, Meredith Crain, Emily Hill, Ben Crain; and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Midway Cemetery or Meadville Baptist Church.
