Funeral services for Thomas J. Smith will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Smith Family Cemetery in Roxie, MS. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Rev. James Hunsucker will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Thomas J. Smith, 73, of Roxie, passed from this life on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 18, 1951 in Natchez, MS, to Wilkin Smith and Willie Mae Twiner Smith.

He enjoyed fishing, his cattle, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Barbara Roney Smith; sister, Carolyn "Pud" Smith; and brothers, Alton Smith, Alfred "Cry" Smith, and Ellis "Rooster" Smith.

Survivors are his sons, Gregory Smith, Michael Smith (Kristy), Anthony Smith (Michelle); nine grandchildren; brothers, Herman Smith (Betty), David Smith (Sharon); sisters, Josephine Pierce, Diana Russell; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Dakota Smith, Josh Smith, Aden Smith, Hunter Smith, David Lee Smith, and Ramsey Brown.
