Obituary

Mrs. Theresia Beer Purser departed her earthly home on October 20, 2012. She died at her residence after a long illness, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Purser was born in Pecs, Hungary on March 27, 1924 to Gabor and Terez Pinter Beer. She had three siblings, a sister Anna and two brothers, Joci and Gabriel.

Funeral services were at Sarepta Baptist Church on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 12:00 Noon. Rev. Eric Moak and Rev. Billy Howse officiated. Burial was in the Sarepta Baptist Church Cemetery.

During WW II "Teddy" become dislocated from her family and eventually met John F. Purser at a Red Cross camp in Linz, Austria where she was working and he was stationed with the US Army. They married and "Jake" brought his bride along with their first born child home to Franklin County, MS. Life was not easy for Teddy, she could speak very little English and her husband had to return to war, but with the help of family and her determination she conquered all odds. She learned to speak English, but never lost her homeland accent. She became one of the best seamstresses around, every garment sewn to perfection. Her home was filled with the aroma of another delicious meal and lots of her native land decor.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, a void in our hearts will remain until we fill it with sweet memories and remember her laughter with the grandchildren and her puppies, Fritzi, and Csaba.

In 1977, after a separation of 33 years, Teddy returned to Hungary to be reunited with her mother, her brother and sister. Sadly, her father had died and one brother had been killed during the war. But now she has reunited with them again, and we find peace and joy in this fact.
Mrs. Purser was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: John Ford "Jake" Purser, and two siblings.

Survivors include her devoted daughter: Peggy and husband Robin Farrell; two sons: John Wayne Purser and wife Lynda of Meadville and Gabriel Purser and wife Cindy of Walker, LA; grandchildren: Emy Roider of Baton Rouge, LA, Brad Purser of Smithdale, Stacy Smith and Rachel Brocato both of Meadville, and Adam Purser of Summit; 10 great-grandchildren; brother: Joci Beer of Grande Riveria, France; a special sister-in-law: Eva Mae Purser of Meadville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are: Adam Purser, Brad Purser, Casey Lofton, Jamie Clint Smith, Butch Emfinger, and Douglas Purser.

The family would like to thank everyone, family and friends, who have visited, sent cards, brought food, phoned, or whispered a prayer for them the last few months, and to the hospice family for their devoted care and support.
