Funeral services for Mrs. Sylvia Brooks Holland will be on Friday, December 30, 2016, at Bude Church of God in Bude, MS at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Byrd's Chapel Church of God Cemetery in the Berrytown Community. Rev. Brian Monehan and Rev. Danny Cook will be officiating the services with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home on Thursday, December 29, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Mrs. Holland, 86, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at the Liberty Community Living Center with her loving family by her side. She was born on December 24, 1930 in Holly Ridge, LA to Mr. James Brooks and Mrs. Gladys Larimore Brooks.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading and loved to care for her beautiful plants and flowers. She spent many hours working on word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.

She loved to cook for her family, church and neighbors. She was devoted to studying the Holy Bible and singing praises to our Lord with her devoted husband and daughter. She was very dedicated to her grandchildren and spent many hours caring for them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Preceding her in death are parents, James Brooks and Gladys Larimore Brooks; sister, Esther Paretti; brothers, Bo Brooks and Candler Brooks and infant son, Garland DeWayne Holland.

Survivors are her husband of 67 years, Donald Holland; daughters, Wanda Gail Edwards and husband Jimmy Dale of Meadville, Ina Gafford and Todd of Denham Springs, LA; grandchildren, Casey Edwards and wife Brooke, Olivia Edwards, Ashley Richardson and husband Anthony, Beth Louviere and husband Blake, Autumn Gafford; great-grandchildren, Christian Davis, Lena Richardson, Jackson Edwards, Ann Barrett Edwards and Gabriel Louviere along with a host of family and friends.
