Sylvia Lavonne Bedford, 70, was called into the presence of the Lord on October 16, 2015 at Franklin Memorial Hospital at Meadville, MS. Mrs. Bedford was born in Amite county June, 3, 1945 to Mr. James Clinton Whittington and Mrs. Catherine Hollingsworth Whittington.

Visitation will be at Bude Church of God in Bude, MS on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM and continue Monday, October 19, 2015 from 10:00 AM till time of service at 11:00 AM at Bude Church of God. The graveside service will follow in the Midway Cemetery. Dr. Daniel Smith and Rev. Timothy Touchstone will be officiating the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Bedford was a dedicated wife and homemaker. She was a member of Bude Church of God, Mississippi Homemaker's Volunteers, Hospice Volunteer and worked as an Avon Representative. She had a deep love for her church and family and demonstrated that love every day.

Mrs. Bedford is preceded in death by her parents Mr. James Clinton Whittington and Mrs. Catherine Hollingsworth Whittington; sister, Kay Hays and stepson Dale Bedford.

Survivors are husband of 36 years, Jerry Bedford of Meadville; brothers, James Whittington and wife Beatrice, Lemuel Whittington and wife Elizabeth, Donald Whittington and wife Beverly, all of Gloster, MS; sisters, Christine Sterling and husband Dale of Gloster and Lynette Plunkett of Columbia, LA; stepdaughter, Debbie Bedford Holmes;four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren along with a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Brad Stokes, Brian Monroe, Bobby Bivens, Barry Tyson, Benji Holland and James Whittington.

Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Dale Edwards, Travis Touchstone, and Alan Touchstone.
