Mrs. Sonja Darlene Seale Melancon, 51, was called into the presence of the Lord on Monday, September 12, 2016 at her residence in the Pleasant Valley community of Franklin County. She was born at Natchez, MS on March 3, 1965, to Mrs. Jackie O'Neal Seale Kent and the late Mr. Jason (Sonny Boy) Seale, Jr.
Visitation will be at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Meadville, MS, on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, from 5:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM. The graveside service will follow in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Trent Moak and Rev. Tony Mullins will be officiating the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Melancon graduated nursing school from Southwest Community College and worked for many years as a Registered Nurse at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family, she loved all children, and she devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Melancon is preceded in death by her father, Jason Seale, Jr.; grandparents, Jason (Sr.) and Lottie Seale, Percy O'Neal and Claudia and John Garrison, and Hubert and Mollie Kent; uncle, David Seale, George O'Neal, David O'Neal and Glen Lee; and great uncle, Charles Loper.
Survivors are her Husband of 28 years, Donald Melancon; sons, Daron Melancon and Christopher Melancon; daughters, Charlsey McGalliard and Dianne DiCiccio; grandchildren, Joseph Brocato, Gracelyn McGalliard, Leightyn Laird, Preston DiCiccio, Brennan DeCiccio, Grayson and Gabriel DiCiccio; mother, Jackie Kent and husband Kenneth Allan; sister, Kim Larkin and husband Bruick; aunts, Peggy Seale Lee, Claris Garrison Westbrook and husband Elton, Dera Garrison Mira and Wanda Seale, Ricki O'Neal; uncle, Johnny Garrison; nephew, Hunter Hatcher; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Hunter Hatcher, Tyler Scott, Jason "Stinky" Seale, David Westbrook, Elton Westbrook and Glenn Westbrook.
