Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Diane Hutchinson Derrick will be on Monday, December 18,
2023, at First Baptist Church of Bude in Bude, MS at 12:00 PM, with burial to follow in the Old
Arm Baptist Church cemetery in Silver Creek, MS. Bro. Webb Armstrong and Bro. Tyson
Windom will be officiating the services with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the
arrangements. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church of Bude On Monday, December 18,
2023 from 10:00 – 12:00 with the services starting promptly at 12:00PM.

Mrs. Derrick 68, originally from Arm, MS, currently residing in Meadville, MS passed from this
life on December 12, 2023 while on vacation to one of her most favorite places to visit, Biltmore
Estates with her husband David Derrick by her side. She was born on September 22, 1955 in
Brookhaven, MS to Mr. Kermis Lavon Hutchinson and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Grimes Hutchinson.
She loved her family dearly and her grandchildren and their spouses with an even greater love.
She cherished spending time with her beloved husband David and their little dog Trixie. She so
enjoyed her time spent her Sunday School ladies and valued their friendship with all of her
heart. Mrs. Shirley loved all things that sparkled and shined. She truly appreciated all of the
beautiful things life had to offer, big and small. She loved planting flowers and working in her
yard. Holidays were always a special time for her, but her absolute most favorite time of the
year was Christmas. She loved making Christmas candies and sweets and spent much time
thinking of the perfect gifts for those she loved. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother,
and friend and will be missed greatly.

Preceding her in death were her son, Jason Bradley Gallagher and her father, Kermis Lavon
Hutchinson.

Survivors are her husband of 15 years, David P. Derrick of Bude, MS; daughter, Mary Elizabeth
"Beth" Larkin and husband Pat Larkin; granddaughter Jordyn Baleigh Gooch and husband Clint
Gooch; grandson Thomas Patrick Larkin and wife Taylor Pickett Larkin all of McCall Creek, MS.
She is also survived by stepson, Kristopher "Kris" David Derrick of Seminary, MS. She is survived
by her mother Mary Elizabeth Smith, Brookhaven, MS; one Brother, Eddie Hutchinson and wife
Donna Hutchinson, Sisters, Linda Hutchinson Magee and husband Randy Magee from
Brookhaven, MS and Francis Lambert of Arm, Mississippi. She is also survived by a very special
friend Deborah Colbert and granddaughters by heart, Emily Dillon and Taylor Marrero.

Pallbearers are her grandsons Thomas Larkin and Clint Gooch, Nephews Todd Smith, Scotty
Smith, Keith Hutchinson, and great nephew Landon Trott.
