Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2021, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS, for Ronald Edward Nettles, who passed from this life March 2, 2021.  Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. until time of service.  Reverend Pat Sullivan will officiate with burial to follow at the Nettles Family Cemetery in Eddiceton, MS.  Pallbearers will be Brandon Nettles, Henry Nettles, Blake Nettles, Austin Sinclair, Danny Coleman and Brent Nettles. Honorary pallbearers are Anthony Nettles, Lance Nettles, Michael Finn, and Gary Huff.

Ronald Nettles, 86, of Eddiceton, MS died March 2, 2021, in Brookhaven, MS. He was born November 21, 1934, in Natchez, MS.  He was a 1953 Graduate of Meadville High School where he was elected Mr. Meadville High.  Mr. Nettles was a well-known and beloved cattleman, house painter, and farmer who enjoyed working all over Adams, Franklin, and Jefferson counties.   He had a deep love of the outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Nettles was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Korea 1957-1959.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.  He loved supporting his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews by attending various school and athletic events that they were involved in.  He and his wife, Esther, were blessed to be part of the congregation of Oldenburg Presbyterian Church and enjoyed attending Sunday services.  Mr. Nettles was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Nettles and Gladys Cotten Nettles, his sister, JoAnn Nettles Rayborn, his brothers Blake Nettles and Raymond Nettles, and his nephews Neil Nettles and Sammy Huff.

Mr. Nettles is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Esther Hadskey Nettles; two sons: Ronnie (Rosie) Nettles, of Brandon, MS and Jerry (Christy) Nettles of Germantown, TN; one daughter: Lane Nettles Parker of Eddiceton; grandchildren: Jordan Nettles, Brandon (Bailey) Nettles, Noel (Austin) Sinclair, Colleen Parker, Henry Nettles, and Blake Nettles; great-grandchildren: Samantha Sinclair and Carter Sinclair; sisters: Judy Nettles Huff of Eddiceton, and Donna Nettles (Mickey) Finn, of Natchez; brother:  Bruce (Charlotte) Nettles of Natchez; and sisters-in-law Sandra Nettles and Tara Nettles of Hattiesburg, MS; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
