Funeral services for Rodney "Boots" Marshall will be on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Sarepta Baptist Church Cemetery in Meadville, MS. Visitation will be on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Tony Mullins will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Rodney "Boots" Marshall, 87, of McCall Creek, MS, passed from this life on Wednesday, November, 20, 2024, at Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS. He was born on March 21, 1937 in Franklin County, to Mr. Raz Marshall and Mrs. Etta Marie Marshall.

He was a retired Logging Contractor and Tree Farmer who knew and loved the woods.  Back in the day he was an avid deer hunter leading many successful deer hunts in and around his property, never resting until all his dogs were home or accounted for.  There were many times during freezing temperatures after a hunt, at the point the dogs were released, he would pull off his warm coat and leave it on the ground for the dogs to lay on until picked up.

Preceding him in death were his parents; Raz and Etta Marshall; nephews, Gary Runnels and Steve Runnels; great niece, Brandi Runnels; and brother, Charles Marshall.

Survivors are his daughter, Kala Marshall Delaney (Chuck); grandchildren, Brittany Wallace (Doug), Brandon Campbell (Kelsey); great grandchildren, Jacob Wallace, Hayden Campbell, Hailey Campbell, Grayson Campbell; sister Vivian Marshall Runnels; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Brandon Campbell, Charles Roy Delaney, Jr., Wayne Matthews, Vince Woodcock, Stuart Wentworth, and Travis Touchstone.

Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Wallace and Hayden Campbell.
