Obituary

Robert "Lanis" Wilkinson, 79, of Meadville, passed from this life on April 17, 2014, at his residence.

Visitation was Friday, followed by services Saturday at Pilgrim's Rest Primitive Baptist Church. Graveside services and burial took place Saturday at the church cemetery. Bro. Mickey Myers and Bro. Jerry Wilkinson officiated. Franklin Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Mr. Wilkinson was born on Aug. 8, 1934, in Franklin County to Marcus Claude and Julia Cothren Wilkinson. He served in the U.S. Army and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus Claude and Julia Wilkinson; wife, Mary Alice Wilkinson; and sister, Bernice Smith.

Survivors include his sons, Tony (Teresa) Wilkinson of Elm Grove, La., and Terry (Rachelle) Wilkinson of Preston; daughters, Susie (Scotty) Sanders and Robbi Steele, all of Meadville; sisters, Wilda Smith.
