Robert L.C. Humphrey, 88, died Wednesday, January 02, 2014, at the
Franklin County Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be held on Friday,
January 03, 2014, from 1:00 PM until services at 3:00 PM at Hopewell Baptist Church in Bude, MS. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Tony Mullins will officiate. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge
of the arrangements.
Mr. Humphrey was born April 23, 1925, in Attala County, MS, to Clent Humphrey and Mary Shaw Humphrey. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He was a veteran and POW of WWII. He was an alumnus of Mississippi State University. He retired as a school teacher for the State of Mississippi. He was a loving husband, father, and grand-father. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: C.H. and R.L.
Humphrey and granddaughter: Kristy Wells.
Survivors are his wife of 67 years Joy Lee Temple Humphrey; daughters:
Kathy Knight (Jim) of Franklinton, LA, Kay Halford (Mike) of Columbus,
MS, and Carol DeLaughter (Lynn) of Florence, MS; grandchildren: James
Knight, Jennifer Knight, Amanda Knight, Benjamin Knight, Andrew
Halford (Alex) and Dale DeLaughter (Amanda); great-grandchildren:
Dylan and Dyson DeLaughter, Jackson Wells, Berkleigh Halford, and a host of nephews and friends.
