After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's, Richard Evans Ducker, 69, of the Oldenburg community, MS, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 3, 2014. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Graveside service will be on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Midway Cemetery in Meadville. Dr. Paul Honomichl will officiate the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Ducker was born October 1, 1945, in Vicksburg, MS to Lawrence Monroe (Jr.) and Mildred Evans Ducker. He was a member of the Meadville Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Franklin County High School in 1963. Afterward he attended the University of Mississippi, where he received his BS Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1968 and his Master's Degree in that field from Ole Miss in 1971. For a decade he worked in his chosen field until he had the opportunity to return to his beloved Franklin County. He was a gifted photographer. He enjoyed woodworking, target practice, gardening and Ole Miss Sports. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Monroe (Jr.) and Mildred Evans Ducker.
Survivors are his wife of 41 years, Lee Clinton Ducker; daughter, Bobbie Ducker Kelly and husband Josh of Oldenburg, MS; grandchildren, Margaret "Meg" Lee Kelly and Natalie Evans Kelly; brother, James Gordon Ducker and wife Linda of Laurel, MS; niece, Karin Crowell and husband Barry of Hoover, AL; and a host of friends.
