Ms. Penny Wallace, 62 of Hazlehurst, Mississippi passed from this life of Sunday, March 22, 2026 at UMMC Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was born in Hazlehurst, Mississippi on June 10, 1963 to Mr. Jerry Barnett and Mrs. Doris Russel Miller.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, and gambling at the casino. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow up.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Jerry and Doris Miller; son, Shaun T. Wallace; sisters, Sherrie Barnett, Michelle Miller and Josie Miller.

Survivors are her daughter, Alissa Strong and her husband Chase of Bogue Chitto, MS; son, Lee Wallace and his wife Kelly of Bogue Chitto, MS; brothers, Rusty Barnette, Bo Barnette and wife Lisa of Brandon, MS, and her special friend and partner in life, Steven Laiche, Sr. of Hazlehurst, MS.

Penny is survived by seven beautiful grandchildren that she deeply loved, Lexi Wallace, Parker Daix, Maci Wallace, Buck Wallace, River Strong, Layke Strong and Skyler Strong. She is also survived by a host of family and friends.

A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
