Mrs. Ottie Earl Saucier, 82, of Knoxville, MS, passed from this life on April 19, 2020 at Field Memorial Hospital in Centerville, MS. She was born on October 16, 1937 in Mississippi to Mr. John Edward Fitzhugh and Mrs. Ruby Pearl Holden Fitzhugh.
Mrs. Saucier was a cook and loved to serve other. She enjoyed working in the garden and tending to her flowers. She also loved to talk and spend time with her friends, catching up on what was going on in their lives. With her husband, Rev. Thomas W. Saucier, being a minister, she enjoyed spending time in church with her church family. She also loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend to many.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Ruby Fitzhugh; husband, Thomas W. Saucier; brothers, Kenneth Fitzhugh, J.C. Fitzhugh, Tom Fitzhugh; sister, Faydra Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Evie Delaughter and Christopher Stovall.
Survivors are her daughters, Debbie McCarthy and husband Jerry, Becky Stovall and husband James, Jeannette Breland and husband Ricky; son, Gary Saucier and wife, Kim; brother, Fred Fitzhugh; sisters, Betty James, Connie Welford; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends
A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Mrs. Ottie's name be made to: Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at 430 Freewood Rd. SW, Roxie, MS 39661.
