Mrs. Myrtle M. Freeman, 95, of Smithdale, MS died Friday, November 8, 2013 at Meadville Convalescent Home. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 5:00 P M until 8:00 P M at Franklin Funeral Home and continue on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, from 1:00 P M until the time of service at 2:00 P M at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Marvin Howard and Bro. Bob Davis will be officiating the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers are Caleb Zumbro, Carl Freeman, Russ Freeman, Dustin Freeman, Daniel Roberts, Eric Sanders, and Carl Freeman, Jr.

Mrs. Freeman was born March 28, 1918 in Franklin County, MS, to James Hardy and Melisse Pickett McGehee. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a retired seamstress and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Carl Freeman; sons: Jim "Marcell" Freeman, and J.D. Freeman; grandson: Clayton Freeman; sisters: Leta Mae Jones, Zadie Porter, and Ena Alleman; and brothers: Hubert McGehee, Jessie McGehee, and Howell McGehee.

Survivors are her daughters: Linda Freeman McFarland and husband Carroll of Smithdale, MS, and Sandra Freeman Zumbro and husband Phillip of Bude, MS; grand-children: Carl Freeman, Russ Freeman and wife Deena, Candace Sanders and husband Eric, Dustin Freeman, Carlena Roberts and husband Daniel, Caleb Zumbro, and Emily Zumbro; great-grandchildren: Carl Freeman, Jr., Kelsey Freeman, Hayley Freeman, Mary Claire Freeman, and Alli Ann Freeman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
