Maxine Irene Cothren, 91, of Franklin County, MS passed from this life on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at her home in the Sixtown Community of Franklin County. Visitation will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 5:00 PM till 9:00 PM and continue Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 10:00 AM till time of service at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The graveside service will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery at Smithdale, MS. Bro. Marvin Howard and Bro. Paige Cothren will be officiating the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers are Landry Barrilleaux, Luke Barrilleaux, Jay Ezell, Randy Cothren, Roger Cothren and Donald Orr. Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cothren was born May 13, 1923 in Wakefield, KS to Fred and May Jones Buri. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Smithdale, MS. She worked for many years as a supervisor at Movie Star Factory in Bude, MS. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that loved her family and church family deeply.
Mrs. Cothren was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and May Jones Buri; husband, A.J. Cothren; brothers, Freddie Buri and Donald Buri; and son-in-law, Darel Wallace.
Survivors are her daughters, Marilyn Cothren Ezell and husband M.L. of Meadville, MS, and Carolyn Cothren Wallace of Meadville, MS; grandchildren, Monica Ezell, Jay Ezell and wife Chonda, Regina Wallace Dantin and husband Steve, and Darel Wallace, Jr; great-grandchildren, Kayla Wallace Martin and husband Johnathon; Landry, Luke and Cameron Barrilleaux; Aubren Ezell; Justin Miller; Sabrina, Trace and Destiny Wallace; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
