Funeral services for Maxine Buie will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Sarepta Baptist Church in Meadville, MS at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM. Rev. Steve Sasser will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Maxine, 78, passed from this life on Saturday, January 10, 2026. She was born on October 4, 1947 in Meadville, MS to Mr. Wesley Halford and Mrs. Helen Rollins Halford.

She loved everyone and never met a stranger.  She was always willing to help anyone she could.  She was dedicated to make the residents at Meadville Convalescent Home feel loved and take care of.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers James Halford; sisters, Louise Combs and Pollye Platt.

Survivors are her husband of 59 years, James Buie; sons, Robert Buie, Randy Buie; sisters, Bonnie McGeaver, Doris Foy (John); granddaughter, Desiree Delaney (Paul); great-grandchildren, Salem Delaney, Maven Delaney, Bowen Delaney; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Randy Buie, Robert Buie, Josh Auara, Casey Foy, John Foy, and Ernie Platt.
