Mrs. Maxine Brasher, 90, was called into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, September 8, at her residence in Meadville, MS. Mrs. Brasher was born in Calhoun County, April 24, 1926, to Mr. Leonard Bryce Bryant and Mrs. Vesta Lela Ivy Bryant.
Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and continue Monday, September 12, 1:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS. The graveside service will follow in the Midway Cemetery. Rev. Josh Scott and Rev. Matt Alexander will be officiating the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Maxine was a long time and very active resident of Franklin County. In her early years she owned and operated the Kuntry Kitchen Café in Bude, MS and worked at the Funeral Home as an insurance salesperson. She is best known for her work at Franklin County Schools where, for many years she dedicated her life to serve the children of Franklin County as the school's Food Service Manager. She treated all children as her own. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all.
Mrs. Brasher is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Bryant and Vesta Bryant, her husband of 67 years, James Wilson Brasher, daughter Deborah Kathryn Brasher, and Sister Vera Jean Jones.
Survivors are son, Bobby L. (Bo) Brasher and wife Cindy, daughter Kay Scott and husband Bill, and brother, L. B. Bryant. Grandchildren are, Jesse Scott, Rich Scott and wife Christy, Tori Brasher Watts and husband Hogan, Kate Brasher and Matt Brasher. Great grandchildren are, Max Scott, Harper Watts and Chase Watts along with several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Jesse Scott, Matt Brasher, Rich Scott, Hogan Watts, John Ward, Ty Ward, Baron Jones and Buddy Miller.
Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Jones and Barry Dillard.
