Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Marion Evans Allred will be on Friday, May 31, 2019, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Meadville, MS. Rev. Larry Wallace and Rev. Alvie Pernell will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home on Friday, May 31, 2019, from 9:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Marion, 83, of Bude, MS passed from this life on Monday, May 27, 2019, at her residence. She was born on May 30, 1935 in Bude, MS, to Mr. Fredrick Lafayette Evans, Sr. and Mrs. Nellie Lucille Sullivan Evans.

She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.  She loved her city and encouraged everyone to do their part to try to keep it presentable. She loved to socialize with neighbors and friends.  Her faith was very strong and she was an active member at Oak Grove United Methodist Church.  Although she had no children of her own, she treated her three nieces as her own and loved to invest in them as well as children in her community.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Fredrick Lafayette Evans, Jr.

Survivors are nieces; Laurie Evans Durnin and husband, John of Baton Rouge, LA, Joy Lynne Evans Falkner of Bossier City, LA, Christi Evans Klopp and husband, Jeff of Atlanta, GA; great nieces, Abbye Falkner, Annie Klopp, Katie Klopp, Kellie Klopp; great nephews, Evans Durnin, Caleb Falkner, Will Klopp; first cousins, Barbara Freeman, Willie Templet, Nancy Burris, Harold Wentworth, Daisy Cotten, Tommy Lynn Sullivan, Philip Godbold, and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Tommy Lynn Sullivan, Hal Wentworth, Forrest Wentworth, Jimmy Burris, Winston Whitfield, Evans Durnin, and Alan Freeman.

Honorary Pallbearers are Greg Cotten, Harold Wentworth, Gene Ward, Buster Corley, Caleb Falkner, Doug McCoy, and Philip Godbold.
