Funeral services for Marcus Lee Cothren will be on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez, MS. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS at 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and will continue on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Dr. Matt Buckles will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Marcus Lee Cothren, 78, of Roxie, passed from this life on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at United Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born on August 22, 1947 in Natchez, MS, to Howard Paul and Lillian Cavin Cothren.

He enjoyed music and motorcycles. He loved spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents and wife, Juanita Buckles Cothren.

Survivors are his daughter, Leanne Cothren; son, Paul Cothren (Sheila); brother, David Cothren (Patricia); sister, Paulette Wingard; grandchildren, Christopher Cantrell (Izzie), Jack Renfroe, Braelyn O’Dell, Adelin O’Dell; great grandchildren, Oaklynn Cantrell, Dean Cantrell; a very dear and close friend, Susan Bowen; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Carey Buckles, Jack Renfroe, Christopher Cantrell, Michael Wingard, Cavin Greer, and Billy Wilkerson.

Honorary pallbearers are Mason Clanton and Joey Hazlip.
