Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Thomas will be on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Springhill Baptist Church in Knoxville, MS with burial to follow in the Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Mike Carraway and Rev. Vann Windom will be officiating the services with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Wednesday, March 15 at Springhill Baptist Church from 10:00 AM till time of service at 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Thomas passed from this life on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Kings Daughters Hospital in Brookhaven, MS with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 23, 1912 in Franklin County to Mr. Sidney Cannon and Mrs. Sara C. Whitehead Cannon.

Mrs. Maggie was an avid Franklin County Bulldog Fan that would be found at all Football games as her health allowed. She recently was honored by naming her "The 12th Man" on the team. She retired from Mississippi Southwest Area Agency on Aging at the age of 85. She loved her church and her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Curtis Thomas; son, Jimmy Thomas; brothers, Rex Cannon and Hubert Cannon; sister, Carrie C. Leslie and grandson, Shelly Brown Jr.

Survivors are her daughters, Sarah Benoit and husband Bob of Bursley, LA, Lona Thomas of Knoxville, MS, Mary Katheryn Larkin and husband Dr. William (Bill) Larkin of Bude, MS; daughter in law, Vernette Thomas of Meadville, MS, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren along with host of family and friends.
