Mae Brown Stacy, age 95, of Clermont, Florida, formerly of Louisville, Mississippi, and Damascus, Maryland, passed away on December 5, 2012. She was the wife of the late Irven Boydston Stacy Jr., who died on January 8, 1970.
Mae was born on May 4, 1917, in Louisville, Mississippi. She was the daughter of the late James M. and P. Elizabeth Brown. Mae was the youngest of five children and is the last of her immediate family.
Mae worked at the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) until her retirement in March 1979. She was a fifty-plus year member, and Past Matron, of Pentalpha Chapter #38, Order of the Eastern Star. She had attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven, Florida, where she had been a member for over 20 years.
Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Anne and husband Kenneth W. Smith of Damascus, MD; and son Irven B. Stacy III, and wife Sandie of Clermont, FL. Six grandchildren, Kimberly Herndon and husband Wayne of Mt. Airy, MD; Karen Brightwell and husband Steve of Boonsboro, MD; Kenneth K. Smith and wife Karen of Union Bridge, MD; Kelly Lee Kevitt and husband Jeremy of Clermont, FL; IB Stacy IV and wife Christine of Atlanta, GA; and James Stacy and wife Megan of Clermont, FL. Thirteen great-grandchildren: Michelle and Catherine Herndon; Ashley and Rachel Brightwell; Trey and Jordan Smith; Jude Haines and Zoey Kevitt; Gavin Shytle and IB (Boyd) Stacy V; Wyatt Shaffer, Conner and Ella Stacy.
Family visitation will be at 10:00 A M until memorial services at 11:00 A M Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville. Burial will be in the Midway Cemetery in Meadville.
