Luvenia Arnold Hemphill, 91 of Meadville, MS, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Meadville, MS.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21 from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. and continue on Monday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Franklin Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday at Sarepta Baptist Church on Union Church Road, Meadville with Rev. Lynn Oglesby, Rev. Matt Alexander and Rev. Christopher Oglesby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She spent her leisure time working with crossword puzzles and collecting owl figurines. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who affectionately knew her as "Mama Lou". She loved her church and was very faithful to attend until her health declined.
She was employed for many years by local grocery stores where her smile and kind words were known by many.
Mrs. Arnold Hemphill is preceded in death by her parents, Sampson and Ola Emfinger; first husband, Bill Arnold, second husband ,Eldred Hemphill;
grandson, Billy Dean Arnold Jr.; brothers, Fred, Rayford,and Dudley Emfinger.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty A. Oglesby (Pete) and Carolyn A. Runnels; one son, Billy Dean Arnold Sr. (Karin); sister, Lola Mae Delaney; five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and six great- great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Terry Oglesby, Bill Arnold , Field Oglesby, Allen King, Sonny King, Jordan Arnold, and Josh Terrell.
