Funeral services for Mrs. Loretta Shell will be on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Springhill Baptist Church in Knoxville, MS at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Springhill Baptist Church from 9:00 AM until time of service a 11:00 AM. Rev. Mike Carraway and Rev. Henry McElroy will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Shell, 84, of Knoxville, MS passed from this life on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Meadville Convalescent Home in Meadville, MS. She was born March 16, 1941 in Stratford, OK to Mr. James Knox Murray and Mrs. Augusta Ada Rakestraw Murray.
She enjoyed loving on her family, and taking care of her plants. She always loved to cut her grass and keep things in order. She had a compassionate heart for those with physicals needs, devoting much of her time caring for late husband and other family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Loretta will be greatly missed.
Preceding her in death were her parents, James and Augusta Murray; husband, Roy Shell; son, Christopher Allan Shell; sister, Floretta Jean Perry and brother, Jimmy Ray Murray.
Survivors are her daughter, Jennifer Wallace; son, Tyrone Shell (Sandy) and brother Charles Murray. Grandchildren are Miranda Shell, Kade Shell, Beth Stebbins (Brady), Hope Beach (Tristan), Justin Emfinger (Kylee), Josh Wallace and step grandson, Wayland Harveston. Great Grandchildren are Bentley, Brooke, Gatlin, Isabella, Olivia, Nicholas, Krislynn, and Jade.
Pallbearers are Justin Emfinger, Mike Shell, Matt Shell, Tristan Beach, Brady Stebbins and Brad Griffin.
Honorary pallbearers are Josh Wallace, Chad Griffin, and Michael Carraway.
The family request memorials be made in her name to the Cemetery Fund at Springhill Baptist Church at 430 Freewoods Road SW, Roxie, MS 39661
