Funeral services for Mrs. Lola Mae Delaney will be on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at Sarepta Baptist Church in Meadville, MS at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in the Sarepta Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Steve Sasser will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sarepta Baptist Church, on Wednesday September 11, 2019 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM.
Mrs. Delaney, 99, of Meadville, passed from this life on Friday, September 6, 2019, at Meadville Nursing Home in Meadville. She was born on August 10, 1920 in Franklin County, to Mr. Sampson and Mrs. Ola Emfinger.
Mrs. Lola Mae was a long-time faithful member of Sarepta Baptist Church where she faithfully supported her deacon husband, Fred Delaney and was a part of the many points of ministry provided by the church. She saw many very hard times and many world changes in her 99 years. During this time, she never wavered in her unconditional love and care of her special needs' daughter, Bobby Nell. She will be remembered as being loving and faithful to her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Sampson and Lola Emfinger; husband, Fred W. Delaney; daughters, Hilda Rae Delaney, Elaine Travis, Bobbie Nell Delaney and infant son; sister Lovenia Arnold Hemphill; brothers, Fred Emfinger, Dudley Emfinger, and Rayford Emfinger.
Survivors are grandsons, James H. Moore III and wife Frankie of Denham Springs, LA and Stephen Scott Moore and wife Heidi of Denver Colorado; granddaughter, Delaney Moore; grandsons, Andrew Moore, Jacob Moore, and Jordan Moore.
Pallbearers are Andrew Moore, Jacob Moore, Danny Reid, Simon Emfinger, Pete Oglesby, and Jerry Emfinger
A special thanks is expressed to Meadville Nursing Home for their compassionate and professional care. Also, thanks to her special friend and roommate, Kathleen Huffman. Thanks to Mrs. Jackie Delaney for always taking care and being there for her. Thanks to a very special family friend, Vera Reid for her many acts of kindness and support to the Delaney family.
