A graveside service for Mrs. Lillian Dillon Lewis will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 AM.  Elder Tom Griffin and Elder Andy Mozingo will be officiating the service with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lewis, 97, of Meadville, MS, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2020.  She was born June 29, 1922 in Franklin County to William Newey Dillon and Polly Cothren Dillon.

After completing an Associate Degree from Southwest Junior College, she was an English teacher and later the bookkeeper for Franklin County Schools.  The joys of her life were her church, her family, and her home. Her smile and beautiful blue eyes will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Winfred Lewis; five brothers, Emmit Dillon, Alvie Dillon, Ernest Dillon, Lee Dillon, and Clarence Dillon; and three sisters, Sis Strong, Gliddie Hancock, and Nonerea Farmer.

She is survived by one daughter, Jean McGehee and husband Ward; one brother, Prentiss Dillon; one son, James Elton Lewis and wife, Cynthia; two granddaughters, Britton Myers and husband, Johnny, and Emily Young and husband, Weston; one step-grandson, Josh Kelly and wife, Bobbie; and six great granddaughters, Meg Kelly, Charley Matthis, Emma Young, Natlie Kelly, Meredith Myers, and Baby Young.

The family wishes to thank the many loving caregivers during the last nine years with special thanks to her dear Annie Middleton.  They also thank Meadville Convalescent Home and Compassus Hospice for their dedication and care of mother.
