October 19, 1954 – August 12, 2025
Larry Hill, 70, of Meadville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Franklin County Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 19, 1954 to M. E. "Slick" Hill and Audrey Lindley Hill.
Services will be on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Providence Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at the adjacent cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Franklin Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There will also be a brief visitation at the church on Saturday at 10 AM preceding funeral services. Long-time friend Dr. Pat Larkin will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Larry was an avid golfer, compiling wonderful times with friends along with four holes-in-one. He spent many of his best days at Middlefork Country Club. He enjoyed working with his hands, being on a tractor, and doting on his grandkids, Caroline and Graham.
Preceding him in death were his parents, M. E. "Slick" Hill, Audrey Lindley Hill, sister-in-law, Donnis Hill, and beloved aunt and uncle, Thelma "Baby Ruth" and Barnett Gammill.
Survivors are his wife of 43 years, Bettye Hill of Meadville, MS; his children Casey and Amanda Hill of Ocean Springs, MS, Ben Hill of Ridgeland, MS; sister, Dr. Linda Southward of Madison, MS.; brother Les Hill of Meadville, MS; and grandchildren, Caroline Hill and Graham Hill, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that he loved very much.
Pallbearers are Donny Spears, Baron Jones, Blake Southward, Boston Bentley, Will Thomas Calcote, Michael Paul Wallace.
Honorary pallbearers are Bart Jones, Eric Smith, Randy Martin, Raymond Steele, David Campbell, Ricky King, Milan Nelson, Lynn Scott, Wayne Oglesby, Chris Kent, Poochie Kent, and Barry Cotten
The family requests memorials be made in his name to Providence Baptist Church.
The family would also like to express their gratitude to Dr. Jeff clark and his nurse Kayla, Dr. Kimberly Estes and the wonderful nursing staff of Franklin Memorial Hospital, and the medical staff at the Benson Cancer Center in New Orleans.
