Funeral services for Mr. Larry Buckels will be on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Bethesda Baptist Church in Fayette, MS at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in the Fayette City Cemetery in Fayette, MS. Rev. Steve Sasser will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Bethesda Baptist Church on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M.

Mr. Buckels 62, of Fayette, MS, after a long battle with cancer passed from this life on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Meadville Nursing Home. He was born on October 16, 1956 in Adams, County to Mr. John Morgan Buckels and Ms. Martha Brown Buckels.

Larry suffered a life changing stroke at the age of eleven that challenged him to develop his skills. He grew to be very talented in oil painting and wood carving and produced many beautiful works of art.

Preceding him in death were his parents, John Morgan Buckels and Ms. Martha Brown Buckels; brother, John Bennett Buckels and nephew, Joe K. Smith, Jr.

Survivors are sister, Marilyn Smith and husband Joe of Fayette, MS along with 3 nieces, numerous cousins, and a nephew that were more like a brother or sister to him along with a very special aunt, Nell Smith that filled the role of his mother after she passed.

Pallbearers are Robby Swearingen, Luke Williams, Phillip Williams, Adam Purser, Josh Smith, and Brice McWilliams.
