Obituary

Joseph "Joe" E. Ross, 81, passed away on August 10, 2014 at Natchez Community Hospital after a short illness. He was born on December 26, 1932 at the Ross homestead in Roxie, MS to the late William A. Ross and Juanita Rice Ross. After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, he went back home to Roxie and met his future wife, Mafalda (Bobbie) Carazza Ross. Mr. Ross retired from the Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company in Natchez, MS where he was employed for over 30 years.

Mr. Ross is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his brothers; James I. Ross and Lawrence Ross.

He is survived by daughters; Cynthia Mullins (Marty) of Natchez, MS, Darlene McGill (Mike) of Blue Eye, MO, and Nita Nosser (Paul) of Bryant, AR; sisters; Eva Ross of Roxie, MS, Marie Wellman of Dayton, OH, Billie Arneson (Dwayne) of Tucson, AZ, Rubei Ross of Malvern, AR, and Ruth Ross of Accokeek, MD; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Franklin Funeral Home on Thursday, August 14, 2014, from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jamie Wallace officiating. Burial will be at the Roxie Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be friends and family. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Wildwood Hunting Club. The family wishes to thank Mr. Billy and Mrs. Jean Havard for the many acts of kindness they have shown.

The family request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roxie Baptist Church, St. Jude Research Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
