Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Shannon Brocato will be on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Smithdale, MS at 2:00 PM, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Brandon Lynch and Rev. Marvin Howard will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Saturday, April 16, 2022, from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.
Mr. Joseph Shannon Brocato, 50, of Smithdale, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. He was born on October 21, 1971 in Cleveland, MS, to Joe Peter Brocato and Peggy Laird Brocato.
Shannon had a deep love for his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter of all game. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Preceding him in death were his father, Joe Peter Brocato; one niece, Ashlee Paige Holland; uncles, John Madison Laird, Jr., Tony Brocato; one aunt, Patricia Brocato Wimberly; grandparents, John and Mildred Laird, Frank and Marie Brocato;
Survivors are his mother, Peggy Laird Brocato; one daughter, Anna Grace Babin and husband, Steven; one son, Joseph Timothy Brocato; two grandchildren, Macen and Blair Babin; one brother, Brad Brocato and wife, Rachel; one sister, Scarlett Holland and husband, Paige; nephews, Reese and John Braden Brocato; nieces, Olivia and Leeanna Holland, Carleigh Gail Brocato; great niece, baby Brocato, due in September; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Paige Holland / Joseph Brocato, Reese Brocato / John Braden Brocato, Shelly Cowart, Dusty Rollinson / Donnie Rollinson, Chris Allen, Brad Thornton, Eric Gage, Lance Fudickar
Honorary pallbearers are members of International Brotherhood of Boiler Makers Local 37.
The family request memorials be made in his name to: Blair E Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson, MS.
