John Earl Hopkins, 68, died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at his home in Meadville, MS. There will be a memorial service held Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Meadville Methodist Church in Meadville, MS.

Mr. Hopkins enjoyed working in his yard and tending to his dogs. He also enjoyed building things with his grandchildren and spending time with them. Mr. Hopkins also enjoyed listening to classical music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Gladys Hall Hopkins.

Surviving him include: his wife: Gail Hopkins of Meadville, MS; sons: Chris Hopkins, Tad Coburn of Meadville, MS, and Edward Coburn and wife Tara of Crystal Springs, MS; daughters: Johanna Hopkins of Meadville, MS, Sarah Hopkins of Picayune, MS, Donna Hopkins of Jacksonville, FL, Sandy Price and husband David of Brookhaven, MS, Jennifer Aldridge and husband Shannon of Bude, MS. Also surviving him are his grandchildren: Eugene Weeks, Bethany Weeks, Jonathan Taylor, Jeremiah Smith, Gabrielle Brooks, Quinten Trimmings, Makayla Shelton, Logan Shelton, Gracie Price, Kara Upton, Isaac Westbrook, Alissa Combs, Louie Aldridge, T.J. Coburn, and Hailey Coburn ; two brothers: Ronald Hopkins, Michael Hopkins.
