Funeral services for John G. Guice will be on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS, at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Bro. Milton Whatley and Bro. Tony Mullins will be officiating the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home on Friday, June 24, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Saturday, June 25, 2016, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
Mr. Guice, 78, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at the VA Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born on November 23, 1937, in Roxie, MS, to Harold W. and Annie Zimmerman Guice the Oldenburg Community. He was a member of Oldenburg Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed fishing, farm work and spending time with his family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Harold W. and Annie Zimmerman Guice.
Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Gloria Taylor Guice; dauthers, Annie Guice Allen and husband James E. of Bogue Chitto, MS, and Teresa Guice Jackson and husband Matt of Roxie, MS; son, John Wayne Guice and wife Clara H. of Roxie, MS; step children, Billy Joe Boswell and wife Sandy of Orange, TX, Tina Boswell Cole and fiancé Ricky of Orange, TX, and Jesse Boswell and wife Connie of Texarkana, AR; brothers, Harold A. Guice and wife Bobbie, Charles Milton Guice and wife Sandra, and Michael David Guice and wife Eva; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the medical team and oncology team at the G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery VA Medical Center, the staff of St. Luke's Hospice, and family and friends.
