Jimmie Ruth Garner, 82, of Roxie, MS, passed from this life on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Natchez Community Hospital in Natchez, MS.
Mrs. Garner was born June 8, 1932 in Roxie, MS to Willie and Hazel Whitehead Mullins. She shared 63 years of marriage with her husband Aubrey Garner.
She was a member of the Roxie Baptist Church. She worked for 37 years as the Post Master of the Roxie Post Office. She enjoyed fishing with her husband and going to eat with her son. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Garner, her parents, Willie and Hazel Whitehead Mullins; son, Dale Garner; and brothers, Sonny Boy Mullins and Charles Mullins.
Survivors are her daughter, Carolyn Garner Matthews of Roxie, MS; sons, Willie Garner of Roxie, MS, and Len Garner and wife Janet of Roxie, MS; daughter in law, Therese Garner; sister, Juanita Mullins of Roxie, MS; brother, John Mullins and wife Janice of Roxie, MS; sister-in-law, Earlyn Mullins of Roxie, MS; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
