Funeral services for Mrs. Jimmie Claudell Coleman will be on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in the Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Meadville, MS. Elder Mickey Myers will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, from 10:00 AM until the service at 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Coleman, 91, passed from this life on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at the Meadville Convalescent Home. She was born on July 3, 1929 in Franklin County, MS, to Marcus Claude Wilkinson and Julia Cothren Wilkinson.

She enjoyed cooking and loved flowers. She spent her life taking care of Jennifer.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a wonderful friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Winard Thornton; son, Marcus Thornton; sisters, Bernice Smith, Wilda Smith; brother, Lanis Wilkinson; and a grandchild, Ashley Touchstone.

Survivors are her husband of 58 years, Johnny Coleman; daughters, Jennifer Coleman of Meadville, Gail Lark and husband, Steve, of Grand Coteau, LA, Rebecca Dupree and husband, Henry, of Smithdale; sons, Danny Coleman of Bude, Johnny Dale Coleman and wife, Jerry, of Smithdale; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Trevor Coleman, Trent Coleman, Kerry Spring, Terry Wilkinson, Miller Lloyd, and Ron Arnold

The family would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Mildred Roberts for her gracious work in caring for Mrs. Jimmie and Jennifer and being such a wonderful friend.
