Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Lynn Howell will be on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in the New Salem Church Cemetery. Elder James Conley and Rev. Robby Britt will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home on Monday, September 9, 2019, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mr. Howell, 67, of McCall Creek, MS, passed from this life on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on October, 31, 1951 in Brookhaven, MS, to Mr. Stanley Howell and Mrs. Lucille England Howell.

Jerry Lynn served 18 years as County Supervisor for District 4 in Franklin County. His distinguished service and faithful leader has been instrumental in advancing the wellbeing of all Franklin County residence. He was a long time faithful member of New Salem Baptist church. He was a member of Bude Masonic Lodge, Robert Posey Lodge #566.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Stanley and Lucille Howell and sister, Katherine Magee.

Survivors are his wife of 47 years, Nancy Chapman Howell; daughter, Amanda Thompson and husband Ronny of Ruth, MS; son, Jeremy Howell of McCall Creek, MS; brother, Billy Simmons and wife Patsy of Grenada, MS; sister, Frankie Applewhite and husband Donald of McCall Creek, MS; grandchildren, Ethan Howell, Whitney Howell, Turner Thompson, Railey Thompson and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Adam Steele, Joey Taylor, Eddie Holmes, Mark Fortenbery, David Allen Magee, Ronnie Noble, Tommy Lynn Sullivan, and Billy Paul Gill.

Honorary pallbearers are, Charles Wilson, John D. Mullins, and James Magee.
