Mr. Jeffery L. Scott, 60, of Meadville, MS died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 5:00 P M until 8:00 P M and continue Monday, May 13, 2013 at 1:00 P M until the time of services at 2:00 P M at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Meadville, MS. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers are: Raymond Scott, Eddie Hunter, Shane Arnold, Rudan Pernell, Ronnie Jackson, and Cody Butler. Honorary pallbearers are: Mike Smallwood, Delton Butler, Eddie Harris, Brodie Harris, Parker Harris, Harry Foster, and James Portrey.

Mr. Scott was born October 7, 1952, in McComb, MS, to Hilton and Helen M. Scott Cutrer. He was adopted by his maternal grandparents Roy T. (Sr.) and Gladys Prather Scott. He was a retired railcar worker from American Railcar in Bude, MS. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and adopted parents.

Survivors are his wife: Marie Scott of Meadville; daughter: Alishia Harris and husband Eddie of Wesson, MS; brothers: Roy T. Scott of Birmingham, AL, and Greg Scott and wife Clemois of McCall Creek, MS; sister: Ramona Scott of Nevada; grandchildren: Ashleigh Harris, Brodie Harris, and Parker Harris; a special brother: Raymond Scott; and a host of nieces and nephews.
