Funeral services for Mr. James E. Pilgrim will be on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS at 2:00 PM, with burial to follow in the Midway Cemetery in Meadville, MS. Rev. Jamie Wallace and Rev. Tyson Windom will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.

Mr. James E. Pilgrim, 83, of Roxie, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Merit Health in Vicksburg, MS. He was born on January 6, 1938 in House, MS, to Jim Golden Pilgrim and Ella Mae Breland Pilgrim.

He enjoyed driving trucks, fishing, working in his yard, and spending time with his loving wife and family. He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and wonderful friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Barbara Jean Pilgrim; brothers, Wesley Eugene "Billy" Pilgrim, Prentiss Ray Pilgrim, Joe Bob Pilgrim.

Survivors are his daughter, Gloria Tyler from Melder, LA; sons, James David Pilgrim and wife, Amelia, of Roxie, Jim Pilgrim and wife, Penny, of Columbus, Richard Pilgrim and wife, Lisa, of Tioga, LA; sisters, Mavis Tyson and husband, Lynn, of Lena, Mittie Barfoot and husband, Bob, of Pearl, Jimmie Lynn Atkinson and husband, Jimmy Joe, of Morton; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Buster Pilgrim, Jonny Pilgrim, Chris Stokes, Mike Pilgrim, Rev. Calvin Wactor, and Derek Jones

Honorary pallbearers are 2 Lt. Payton Pilgrim, Dakota McCarthy, Charlie Pilgrim, Vince Romero, Jesse Pilgrim, Michael Tavarez, and Rob Tyler.
