Mr. James L. Ezell, 84, was called into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 6, 2016 at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Mr. Ezell was born at Franklin County, MS. May 30, 1932 to Mr. Elbert Ezell and Mrs. Nettie Ezell.
Visitation will be at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 12:00 P.M until time of service at 2:00 P. M. Rev. Tony Mullins will be officiating the funeral service. The graveside service will be in the Colfax Cemetery in Colfax, LA on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Lloyd Whitman will be officiating the graveside service. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Ezell was retired from Colfax Bark Company. He was a member of Dry Prong Baptist Church where he was deeply involved in worship, Sunday School, men's organization, mission activities, and personal witnessing. After retiring and moving back to Bude, MS, he was faithful to Hopewell Baptist Church and took part in the Amite County Prison ministries. He deeply loved his Church, his family and his hunting dogs.
Mr. Ezell is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Elbert Ezell and Mrs. Nettie Ezell; brother, Cecil Ezell, two sisters, Ethel Ratcliff, Edith Davis, and son-in-law, Robert Jeane.
Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Ezell of Bude, MS; son, Steve Ezell and wife Nancy of Colfax, LA; daughters, Jimmie Fugler and husband Chuck of Brookhaven, MS, Diane Jeane of Colfax, LA, and Karen Sullivan and husband Rex of Bude, MS, brothers, Claude Ezell and wife Pat of Meadville, MS, Donald Ezell and wife Melba of Bude, MS; sisters, Lucille Priest and Irene Priest of Bude, MS, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
