Funeral services for Mrs. Jackie Kent, 75, of Meadville, MS will be on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Eddiceton, MS at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Trent Moak will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church on Monday, September 23, 2019, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and resume Tuesday, September 24 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Kent, passed from this life on Friday, September 20, 2019, at Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS with her loving family by her side.

She was born on December 12, 1943 in Franklin County, MS to Mr. Percy O'Neal and Mrs. Claudia Loper Garrison.

Jackie was dedicated to the church. She was a gifted singer and dedicated much of her time leading choirs and developing children in music. She has touched the lives of many, young and old with the beauty of her songs. She was a retired administrative assistant from American Rail Car.  Jackie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that dedicated her life to the well being of her children and grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed.

Preceding her in death were her parents and step father, John Garrison; daughter, Sonja Melancon; brothers, David O'Neal, George O'Neal and Royce Garrison.

Survivors are her husband of 53 years, Kenneth Alle Kent of Eddiceton; daughter, Kim Larkin and husband Bruick of Bude, MS; sisters; Claris Westbrook and husband Elton of McCall Creek, MS, Dera Mira of Florida; brother Johnny Garrison of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren, Charlsey Lofton and husband Case, Daron Melancon, Hunter Hatcher; great grandchildren, Gracelyn McGallird, Joseph Brocato, Wyatt Lofton and a very special sister in law, Ricki O'Neal.

Pallbearers are Hunter Hatcher, Bruick Larkin, Tyler Scott, Darby Scott, Ricky Campbell, and Todd Campbell.

Honorary Pallbearers are Daron Melancon, Gracelyn McGalliard, Joseph Brocato, Wyatt Lofton, and Case Lofton.
