J. W. "Billy" Scott, 84, of Roxie, MS died 09/09/2013 in Meadville, MS. Visitation is Wednesday, September 11, 2013, from 5:00 until 8:00 P M at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS and from 11:00 A M until funeral services at 1:00 P M Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Roxie Baptist Church in Roxie, MS with burial in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hamburg, MS. Bro. Jamie Wallace will officiate the service.

Pallbearers are Scott Patterson, Blaine Patterson, Adam Flynn, Josh Beach, Colton Prescott, and J. C. Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are deacons of Roxie Baptist Church, James Taylor, Ralph Hale, James West and Bo Alford. Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville, MS is handling the arrangements.

Mr. Scott was born October 16, 1928 in Roxie MS to R. Newman Scott and Mazie Rowland Scott. He was a retired welder at International Paper Company in Natchez, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Natchez and Roxie and was a member of the Roxie Baptist Church. He was a Mason and a member of the Morgan Fork Coon Hunters Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Peggy Mizell Scott and brother: Rowland Scott. Survivors include: children: Vic and Kaye Scott of Roxie, MS and Tina and Marc Patterson of Ocean Springs, MS; grandchildren: Jennifer and Josh Beach, Scott Patterson, Amanda and Adam Flynn, Blaine and Kristin Patterson, Amy and Colton Prescott ; great grandchildren: Morgan Duck, Jaxson Beach, Corvan Prescott, Stratton Flynn, Tullen Prescott and Brandt Beach.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's or to the Roxie Baptist Church.
