Obituary

Funeral services for Irene Farr Wilkinson will be on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at Praise Cathedral Church of God in Meadville, MS at 12:00 PM with a graveside to follow at Roxie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM. Rev. Greg Arnold will be officiation with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of services.

Irene Farr Wilkinson, 93, passed from this life into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, October 24, 2026. She was born in Roxie, Mississippi on April 20, 1933, to Edwin G. and Armenia Lehmann Farr. Her children were by her side when she peacefully passed away.

Miss Irene worked at Armstrong Tire Plant, in Natchez prior to retiring. She was a seamstress, great cook, artist, nurturer and loving mother to her children. She was a member of Praise Cathedral Church of God in Meadville. She is known for her quick wit and was always willing to talk to you about the Blood of Jesus. She would, without fail, plead the Blood of Jesus over you before ending the conversation. She didn’t like to say goodbye to anyone. Instead, she would say, “see you later.” She made her home in Bude with her beloved little dogs, Sugar and Lady.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Lewis Walker Wilkinson, Jr.; parents and two sisters, Charlene Graham and Edwina King.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Darryl Wilkinson, with wife Patsy; Janet (Missy) Edwards, with husband Larry; Natalie Wilkinson; and Letitia Etheridge, with husband Brian; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren with another one on the way; and a sister, Pollye Diamond in Braselton, Georgia.

Pallbearers are Taylor Wilkinson (grandson), Robert Smith, Wade Touchstone, Clayton Price, Wayne Berryhill and Keith Watson. Honorary pallbearers are David Beebe and Jimmy Dale Edwards.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Brookhaven Animal Rescue League at barl.net.
