Irene Bedford Emfinger,89, of Meadville, MS, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Meadville Convalescent Home in Meadville, MS. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and continue on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at Franklin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Sarepta Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Billy Howse and Bro. Eric Moak will officiate the services. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers are: Marcus Emfinger, Thomas Emfinger, Toby Parks, Jessie Cloy, Jonathon Kelley, and William Wallace. Honorary pallbearers are: Dr. William Larkin and the Deacons of Sarepta Baptist Church.

Mrs. Emfinger was born December 28, 1924 in Franklin County, MS to Howell Norman and Lucrecia Wactor Bedford. She was a member of Sarepta Baptist Church in Meadville, MS. She worked for many years as a nurses aide at the Franklin County Memorial Hospital and was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Marcus Emfinger; daughter: Karen Emfinger Lee; infant son: William Marcus Emfinger, Jr.; sister: 3; and brothers: 5.

Survivors are her son: John L. Emfinger and wife Barbara of Bentonia, MS; brother: Jerry Bedford and wife Lavonne of Roxie, MS; grandchildren: 6; great-grandchildren: 13; great, great-grandchildren: 6; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
