Mrs. Ione Shell, 89, of Roxie, MS died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Meadville Convalescent Home in Meadville, MS. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 12:00 P M until the time of service at 2:00 P M at Franklin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Roxie Cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Shell was born May 12, 1923 in Liberty, MS. She was the daughter of Thomas and Eunice Kirkland Gerald. She was a member of Roxie Methodist Church. She worked as a nursing assistant for several years. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Dan Shell, Sr.; son: Dan Shell, Jr.; grandchildren: Tom Shell and Dan Shell, III; sisters: Winnie Reid and Camille Reid; and brothers: Emmitt Gerald and Carey Gerald.

Survivors are her brother: Howard Gerald and wife Linda of Wesson, MS; sister: Rosa Spell of Yazoo City, MS; daughter-in-law: Betty Newman of Roxie, MS; grandchild: Kathy Travis of Meadville, MS; great-grandchildren: Layne Price, Wade Price and Loren Blackwell; great, great-grandchildren: Rory Pinter and Raylee Price; and a host of nieces and nephews.
