Ike was born to Ike Sr. and Josie Hunt Williamson on March 30, 1954. Ike was a 1972 graduate of Franklin County High School. He was a 1974 graduate of Co-Lin Junior College and a 1976 graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
Ike was a member of New Heights Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School.
Ike began working as a young teenager doing construction work and continued to work farming and driving a truck up until weeks before his death. He was no stranger to hard work, and it would be hard to find anyone who worked harder. After college, he began working at Syngenta chemical plant in St. Gabriel, Louisiana where he retired after 28 years. While working the night shift at the plant, he pursued his true passion of farming during the day which he continued up until his death. He farmed mainly corn and soybeans and raised cattle. Ike also founded and maintained a successful trucking business for the past twenty years.
Ike was strong minded and confident in expressing his views. His resilience, determination and strong moral compass was next to none which led to his success, both in business and his personal life.
Ike had a deep faith and an absolute conviction that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. He had a vast knowledge of the Bible, having read it all the way through multiple times.
Ike loved his family dearly. He loved to take road trips with his wife Dewanna, and they enjoyed forty- five years of marriage. One of his greatest joys was working alongside his sons, Tyler and Ryan, on the farm and the trucking business.
Ike was preceded in death by his parents Ike Sr. and Josie Hunt Williamson and brother Mike Williamson.
Ike is survived by wife, Dewanna Goodson Williamson; sons, Tyler (Mary Kathryn), and Ryan (Jade) all of Meadville; grandchildren Jack and Mary Neely Williamson, Tinley, Josie (JoJo), and Lainey Cait Williamson; and brothers Dan Williamson and Kirk Williamson.
Pallbearers will be Heath Woodcock, Guy Joiner, Huey Hess, Larry Perkins, Dan Williamson, and Jack Williamson
The family offers special thanks to the staff at McComb Cancer Center for their excellent care of Ike over the past four years.
